I think websites are very useful in classrooms and at home for extra help. When given beneficial and accurate websites students can use them for research projects or homework help. Parents can use them to help their children do their homework. Students can also expand their knowledge base by using the websites to explore a topic. It can also promote learning by giving students a place to go to answer their own questions about things, if the teacher did not know ( yes that sometimes happens).
I recommend HippoCampus as a useful website because it just has an amazing amount of information that is wonderfully organized. The website is listed below. One thing that I love about this site is that each topic has a video and a "lecture" to it. I think this is great to have the information displayed in multiple ways. Another thing I like about this website is that it is a one stop shop type, it has every subject. It also connects teachers by posting teacher blogs, I think that is very useful for teachers to share and spread their ideas or if you need help you can ask. Another aspect to this website is there are simulations for the topic.
All around I think websites are a great tool for teachers, students and parents.

Erin... WOW! This place is incredible!! I'm so sad I didn't know about this before. The sheer amount of information here is incredible! What a cool resource for lessons, chats with other teachers, and even for students to help them complete homework and projects. I really like that you point out the fact that it gives students an outlet to get invested in their learning! I'll definitely be storing this one for the future! Thanks!
